Casework Support

Schools are fantastic places to work in, we know that working with pupils, parents and staff can be rewarding and fulfilling. However, there are a range of challenges to face with demanding pressures, accountability and an ever-changing education landscape.
Throughout the course of your career there is a high likelihood you will need professional support and advice to navigate through employment-related issues. We outline some of the most frequent questions we are contacted about:

Allegations: we can support you in case of pupil, parent or staff allegations. An unsubstantiated allegation can damage your teaching career and cause severe distress and upset. It is important to receive high-quality support and advice to guide you through the process and lead you to the best possible outcome

Disciplinaries and grievances: if you have been invited to a disciplinary meeting or would like to raise a grievance we will be able to provide advice and support. We will be able to accompany you to upcoming meetings and support you throughout the process.

Employment contracts: we can offer advice when you need to check your employment contract for details on pay, working hours or a change in responsibilities. We can also offer support when going through the TUPE process or facing redundancy

Suspension from work: being suspended from work can be extremely distressing and confusing. Contact our casework team as soon as you have been suspended for advice and support

Pay: if you have questions about performance-related pay, TLR payments or have been delayed in receiving your salary we will be able to provide advice and support

Working hours: if you have questions about the contractual hours you are required to work you can talk to one of our caseworkers. You may have questions about attendance of staff meetings, working on weekends or length of break or lunch times

Sick leave and pay: if you are unsure about your entitlements to sick leave and pay you can contact our casework team for support. You might have questions about sickness certificates, occupational health or attending return to work interviews

Maternity/paternity leave: we answer many questions about maternity/paternity leave and shared parental leave. Questions range from keeping in touch days, returning to work and your employment rights when on leave
